Chinese Assistant Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying, who visited Bahamas, made a courtesy call on Perry Christie, Prime Minister of Bahamas, on Feb. 21, and had a brief talk.
Mr. Fu Ziying said that China attached much importance to the relationship with Bahamas, insisted on the opening strategy of mutual benefit and win-win and positively supported Bahamas to enter into WTO. Under the heavy task of development of itself, China provided assistance within its ability to Bahamas and agreed to the aid project of Bahamas National Stadium to show the good friendship between governments and people of China and Bahamas.
Christie expressed his thanks to Chinese government for the grant assistance, and reiterated that government of Bahama would maintain the attitude towards "One China" Policy, meanwhile, negotiated with China side on the issue that China appointed experts to Bahamas to assist the construction of cultural heritage protection area.
In the end, Mr. Fu Ziying and Mr. Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service of Bahamas, signed an agreement of economic and technological cooperation between governments of China and Bahamas. Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and Chamber of Commerce of Bahamas signed MOU on bilateral cooperation.
